HOLIDAY FAIRE TO BENEFIT ANGORA FIRE VICTIMS
A Holiday Faire to benefit victims of the Angora Fire in the South Lake Tahoe area will be held on
November 8, 2007, at the South Tahoe Middle School multi-purpose room. This event is sponsored
by El Dorado County School Districts, Lake Tahoe Unified School District, the El Dorado County
Chamber of Commerce, and the El Dorado County Office of Education.
As you are aware, this fire was the worst in recent history in terms of number of homes lost and
families affected. Most homeowner’s insurance will cover the structure and maybe even some
contents, but when thinking about refurnishing one’s home, one doesn’t often think first and foremost
about the “extras,” like holiday decorations.
We encourage you to bring your new or gently used holiday decorations to the Lake Tahoe Unified
School District, Education Center (attn Beth Delacour, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00
p.m.), 1021 Al Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, by October 22, 2007. These decorations will be
distributed on November 8 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to educators who lost their homes, and
from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to all people who lost their homes and other needy families.
For further information, contact Jackie Mintz [(530) 295-2337, or jmintz@edcoe.org] or Beth Delacour
[(530) 541-2850, ext. 222].
