LTVA says the half-naked girls who flitted about the outdoor concerts at Stateline were funded mostly by the casinos and TDVA. Guess that stands for Tit ’n Dick Visitors Authority since it’s the twentysomething boys they admittedly are trying to attract with the same-aged girls.

South Shore Chamber Prez Carl Ribaudo was influential in the campaigns of South Lake council members Ted Long, Jerry Birdwell and Mike Weber – the same three who voted to give the Nevada-based entity money from California taxpayers.
And did it strike anyone as odd that Long voted to give the Bike Coalition money. He was a founding member of that group. Conflict of interest?
A group of South Lake-based massage therapists put some teeth into the city ordinance. The City Council OK’d upping the minimum number of hours of schooling to 250, with continuing education now part of the mix.
The latest nonprofit in the area -- Tahoe Helping Hands Inc. -- is focusing primarily on women diagnosed and/or disabled by a terminal or long-term illness. Money is being raised to make Holly’s Place on Rufus Allen Boulevard a retreat offering workshops, group support and networking for them, their caregiver and canines.
Mary Morgan, who used to work in the local Forest Service office, is now the deputy forest supervisor for the White River National Forest in Colorado.
