The national weather service is warning of critical fire conditions later today, according to their web site.
A red flag warning was issued today and is in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon to 9 p.m. this evening due to strong winds and low humidity, according to the weather service.
The warning is in effect for eastern Nevada counties, the greater Lake Tahoe area, and for the following California counties: western Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra.
