Event -- Celebrity Golf at Lake Tahoe

What are you doing in July 2010? Maybe a trip to South Lake Tahoe for the 21st annual American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament should be on your to-do list.
Top photo is the beach on the 17th Hole. It's party headquarters with people frolicking in the lake, playing music -- having a good time as 80 plus celebrities whack a little white ball just feet from the beach. Make sure you are paying attention when Charles Barkley goes by -- his shots are less than straight.
This year Barkley donated $90,000 for survivors of the 2007 Angora Fire that destroyed 254 houses just outside the city limits of South Lake Tahoe. He had already given $100,000.
Next photo is one of NBC's many cameras. The network televises the event each year. It's a little golf, a little travelogue, a lot about Lake Tahoe. If you can't make it in person, it is worth turning the TV on.
Former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino returned to the links this year. He was often mobbed by fans seeking his autograph.
