Low water levels will force closure of one of the more popular boat launches at Lake Tahoe, officials said today.
The launch at Sand Harbor will be closed to motorized vessels on Aug. 5, said Bob Conrad, spokesman for the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The launch will remain open to kayaks and other carry-in boats, Conrad said. Inspectors will remain at Sand Harbor to inspect those vessels for invasive mussels, with those inspections free of charge, Conrad said.
