Researchers Study Effect of Fire on Lake Tahoe

All Things Considered, July 16, 2007 · Aside from the human toll, the fires around Lake Tahoe will also have long-lasting environmental impacts. The 3,100 acres that burned are in the watershed of Lake Tahoe, renowned for its sapphire waters and remarkable clarity. That prized clarity could be threatened by ash and erosion.
