(AP) SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. Meteorologists say storms predicted to begin later this week could cause more misery for the wildfire-damaged Lake Tahoe region.
A National Weather Service flash flood watch goes into effect Tuesday afternoon for east-central California and western Nevada.
Forecasters say slow-moving thunderstorms could dump more than an inch of rain an hour in some areas.
The Weather Service says as little as a quarter of an inch of rain per hour could cause flash floods in recently burned areas near South Lake Tahoe and Reno.
