AT&T helps Angora victims

AT&T PROVIDES FREE EMERGENCY PHONE SERVICES TO TAHOE FIRE VICTIMS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. , June 28, 2007 - In response to the fire in South Lake Tahoe , AT&T is making available a number of services to support customers displaced by the fires.

AT&T is making voice mail, call forwarding services and installation of a phone line available free of charge for 30 days for displaced consumers and businesses, as many fire victims find themselves without an established means for sending and receiving calls to family members, insurance agencies and other important contacts.

Customers displaced by the fires can call 800-557-1113 from Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to set up the following services:

· Phone Access Line, which includes a phone line and installation.

· Call Forwarding, which will automatically forward calls to any phone number of choice.

· The Message Center/Voicemail, which allows retrieval of messages left at a home or business phone line from any location as well as letting the fire victim provide a greeting that highlights their current status.

"The necessity to communicate with family, friends and loved ones becomes even more vital during a crisis," said Loretta Walker, AT&T vice president and general manager, Sacramento/North and Nevada Region. "The voice mail equipment is located inside the AT&T core network and facilities which are outside of the fire damaged area. With call forwarding, fire victims can direct incoming calls to their home or business numbers to the telephone number of their choice to ensure they are receiving their phone calls."

Except for the lines lost in the local areas directly impacted by the fire, the AT&T network is operating smoothly and phone service in and out of the area has not been impaired.

Fire victims can call 800-557-1113 for information regarding these services.
