Mumbo Gumbo music to benefit displaced animals
By Julie Snyder, Best Friends Network
South Lake Tahoe, CA--Murphy's Irish Pub and the Rockwater Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe will be rocking for animal relief on Saturday, July 14, from 7:30 to 10 p.m., when Mumbo Gumbo takes the stage for a benefit performance.
All proceeds from the door and food sales will benefit the emergency response partnership of El Dorado County Animal Control and the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. to help care for pets injured or displaced by the Angora fire that ravaged 3,100 acres near South Lake Tahoe at the end of June.
Mumbo Gumbo's award-winning music blends New Orleans style rhythm and blues, James Brown-inspired funk, edgy blues rock, Afro-Cuban trance singalongs and congo-line-inspiring rhumbas.
The toe-tapping, hand-clapping music will be accompanied by a raffle, barbecue and drink specials.
What You Can Do
Join in the fun and support an important cause. The entry charge is $10 per family or individual. Doors open at 6:30 p.m; the concert runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Murphy's Pub is located at 787 Emerald Bay Road (Hwy. 89) in South Lake Tahoe, California.
